FAQs

Are these wheel stops certified to meet the dimensions and materials required by AS/NZS 2890.1:2004?

Yes. All Safety Xpress wheel stops comply with Australian Standard AS 2890.1:2004. This means the wheel stops meet the required specifications for size, shape and material performance used in parking and traffic management areas.

Compliance helps ensure they perform as expected in commercial car parks, industrial sites and shared access areas. Using products aligned with this standard also supports safer vehicle positioning and helps reduce the risk of damage to kerbs, structures and vehicles.

What is the UV rating and durability difference between LLDPP and the rubber wheel stopper?

Neither LLDPP nor rubber wheel stoppers are supplied with a formal UV rating; however, both materials are designed to perform reliably in outdoor conditions.

LLDPP wheel stops in Melbourne and beyond are manufactured using an ultra-tough, high-impact resin intended for exterior use. The material resists warping, cracking, chipping and rotting over time and performs well when exposed to UV, moisture, oil and harsh weather conditions. This makes LLDPP wheel stops suitable for open-air car parks, loading zones and areas with regular exposure to the elements. They also maintain their shape and structural integrity across changing temperatures.

Rubber wheel stops are manufactured from heavy-duty rubber and are commonly used in high-traffic environments where repeated vehicle contact is expected. They offer strong resistance to cracking, chipping and UV exposure under normal operating conditions. Rubber wheel stops fitted with reflective panels also improve visibility in low-light areas, helping drivers clearly identify parking boundaries and supporting safer vehicle movement and parking control.

Are the fixings included appropriate for permanent anchoring on both asphalt and concrete surfaces?

Yes. All wheel stops are supplied with fixings suitable for permanent installation on both asphalt and concrete surfaces.

Every wheel stop includes a free fixing kit containing three concrete fixing plugs, coach screws and washers. These components are designed to hold the wheel stop securely in place when installed correctly, helping prevent movement under regular vehicle use and maintaining consistent positioning in car parks and traffic control areas.

Correct installation supports reliable performance over time and helps ensure the wheel stoppers remain firmly anchored in high-use environments such as commercial car parks, industrial sites and shared access areas.

Are the larger speed humps compliant for use on public roads versus private car parks?

No. Even our larger speed humps in Australia are intended for use in private car parks and private roads, not public roads.

Larger speed bumps, such as the Ultimate Speed Hump, comply with AS 2890.1:2004, but they are designed for controlled traffic environments. They are commonly installed in shopping centres, multi-level and ground-level car parks and other privately managed access roads.

These speed bumps help slow vehicle movement around buildings, pedestrian areas and shared traffic zones, supporting safer vehicle flow where reduced speeds are required.

Does the 5-year warranty cover fading, and what applies to bulk freight for regional areas?

The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials but does not cover fading caused by environmental exposure. The warranty applies when products are used for their intended purpose and installed in line with Safety Xpress installation guides. It does not cover issues resulting from misuse, incorrect or substandard installation, failure to follow care instructions or physical damage.

Exclusions also include abnormal use, exposure to extreme temperatures that cause material wear or deformation, change of mind and claims made by anyone other than the original purchaser. Any installation completed by parties outside the Safety Xpress Unit Trust is also excluded.

Bulk freight costs to regional areas vary depending on order size and delivery location. For accurate freight pricing and delivery timeframes, it is recommended to contact the Safety Xpress team before placing your order.
